Yes, the University has provided high-level guidance (issued May 2020) containing principles for departments and institutions to follow when dealing with a supplier whose agreed service cannot be carried out, or when the University no longer wants the service due to restrictions relating to COVID-19. That guidance can found here.
Legal Services has also produced a more detailed, supplementary guidance note with practical steps to consider when dealing with an affected contract, which is included in the guidance mentioned above but can also be accessed directly here.
You do not need a contract for services provided between Departments, as all Departments of the University sit within a single legal entity (The Chancellor, Masters, and Scholars of the University of Cambridge), and a legal entity cannot contract with itself. This includes Cambridge University Press & Assessment.
You should, however, record the arrangements agreed. Template internal memoranda for the provision of services between University Departments are available below:
